Amber is a young adult disabled woman living at home with her family. Amber has many gifts and talents and has surprised us all with her accomplishments. She reads a great deal and writes delightful short stories, some of which are published on this site. She loves music and loves to sing. In the 5th grade, she stole the show with her solo performance of “Castle on a Cloud” and became the star of the school for the remainder of the school year. As a senior in high school, she participated in district honor choir and was the only participant who had all of her music memorized.
Despite her disabilities, Amber has had a rather normal life. She has chores, teases her siblings, and argues about bedtime, just like regular kids. She was homeschooled when her siblings were homeschooled and went to public school when they did, also. She graduated high school in 2007 with the rest of her classmates. She has a beau with whom she has attended school dances (including the junior and senior proms) and with whom she goes to the county fair each year, as well as doing some other recreational activities, such as going bowling, seeing movies, and just hanging out.
